Interior features that add that extra something to your drive include power windows with auto-up/down, cruise control, a tilt and telescopic steering column, driver and front passenger illuminated vanity mirrors, rear seat heater ducts, and a rear window defroster. Features that help with loading and storage include a retractable center tray table with bag hooks, in-floor storage, passenger assist grips, a rear storage well, cargo area tie down anchors, a cargo area light, and cargo area bag hooks. The Honda Odyssey has seating features that include head restraints in all seating positions, adjustable 2nd-Row seats with armrests and a walk-in feature, and a one-motion 60/40 split 3rd-row magic seat. The second row seats flip forward or remove for extra storage space while the 3rd-row seat folds into a well in the rear to create a flat load surface.
The body/suspension features for the Odyssey include variable power-assisted rack and pinion steering and power-assisted ventilated front disc/solid rear disc brakes. The mechanical equipment that comes on every new Odyssey trim includes an aluminum-alloy V6 engine that is matched with 5-speed automatic transmission and a drive-by-wire throttle system. A direct ignition system with an immobilizer also comes standard. The engine produces 244 horsepower.
Naturally, safety is a top priority for the new Honda Odyssey. It comes with dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags, front side airbags with a passenger-side occupant position detection system, and three-row side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor. Other important safety features include an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, 3-point seatbelts at all seating positions, and driver and front passenger active head restraints. Brake assist is a feature that helps drivers to take full advantage of the anti-lock braking system by sensing when the driver is trying to make an emergency stop and applying additional brake pressure. Electronic brake distribution varies the amount of braking pressure applied to each wheel according to road conditions and speed so that the driver maintains maximum control.
